>Today I will remind them.

Dunmeri women got their reputation for promiscuity as a direct result of their denial of the old Altmeri Culture they left. The long lived Altmer believe that the world is a "Divine snare" perpetrated by the Devil Lorkan. They are reticent to bring more souls into this trap and therefore have few children when compared to other races. This, obviously, can only be successful if they are not beset by threatening external forces that would unbalance the scales.

See the Falmer: The Falmer had a belief structure very similar to the Altmer. When the Nords arrived to threaten them, they failed to adapt and to replenish their numbers even though they were dying at a much greater rate. Bear in mind this is while the Falmer possessed martial, magical, and technological superiority along with a homefield advantage. (See "Fall of the Snow Prince") They lost simply because the entire species of Falmer likely had less children in a year than a single Nord Warlord had wives.

When the followers of Veloth abandoned Summerset they took the name Chimer. Changed Elves. Different from the Altmer. The practical question I pose to you is "Who changed them?". The answer: The Gods. Specifically the three "Good Daedra": Azura, Mephala, & Boethiah. Our discussion focuses on Mephala.

Mephala, being predisposed towards feminine traits & Matriarchal in sentiment, is credited with teaching the female Chimer the simple truth that their species will face death at a much greater rate than they were used to upon Summerset. Therefore, it is their responsibility, as females, to replenish the ranks of the Chimer to accommodate this new lifestyle. It is, subsequently, the responsibility of the females in Velothi culture to "carry out" the courting process. This practice, along with the successful replenishment of the Chimeri & Dunmeri species over many millennia, has lead to the merited rumor that Dunmer Women are "Promiscuous". Especially by elven standards.
