They've come full circle. When Disneyland opened, the admission fee only got you through the gate. You had to buy tickets for each ride. Eventually they came out with unlimited passes as an option and then years later did away with the individual tickets, probably to save money on the overhead involved. With RFID tags, they can now bring back individual charges for rides without the overhead.
