Yes, 100%. This is largely because the majority of people are hylics who had their behaviors policed growing up, did what was expected of them thinking it would bring them happiness instead of just doing what actually made them happy, and turned out to be miserable losers who will spend the rest of their lives resenting that they were too stupid to realize they had any other choice and taking it out on everyone around them who dares to have a modicum of happiness in their general vicinity.
By the time they come to the realization that they could have done whatever they wanted in life, it's too late; they're locked into an unhappy marriage and have kids they can barely afford to take care of, work an unfulfilling job that exploits them for their very soul, and lack the energy to do anything other than slowly fade away on a couch in front of a TV watching sportsball on weekends. In most cases, they never do have that realization, instead withering away while thinking "yes, this is how life is supposed to be, and woe betide any who dare to question or challenge this ideal, especially my children whom I will teach what to do and what not to do while never explaining the how and why of things because I myself do not know."
