>It took a while
Ain't that the truth...but I think that's a part of it. For some people they simply aren't willing to give it the time, but the game needs you to sit down and give the story and the characters your time before it hands you the reigns to a Chocobo and the free party control and huge power spikes and the Hunts and free exploration. It's not much, but it was still honest.
>character design, the graphic design, and the OST are all great
Fact. The presentation holds up extremely well
>hated 15 and 16
I really did enjoy XV for what it was, and I shed a tear at the ending. I think it accomplished a lot that it set out to do and it deserves some credit (I played Royal years later)
But XVI, that was something that left an awful taste in my mouth that I couldn't wash out. And so I actually played XIII after I beat XVI. And I think that's one of the main reasons why I loved it so much. I felt like I was finally playing Final Fantasy again, after over 70 hours of the most disappointing and gray video game I think I've ever witnessed. Color, wonder, magic, spectacle, melodrama and emotional resonance that actually connects to me....that's Final Fantasy.
