Personally I liked a different take on this slop genre by Devon Eriksen where the elite operator is some poor schmuck trying to eke out a living by doing a bit of space smuggling here and there, and the waifu is a rich, smug genespliced trust fund kid who tries to hijack his ship to do her bidding and things get more complicated.
It's kinda trashy but in a rather good and meaty way and the guy's a gunfag lolbert who lives with two wives and shitposts on twitter.
