And Emet was literally using the crusade as a measure of your worthiness to exist, if the WoL COULD just tank it then he'd leave everything alone.
The fact that the WoL cannot handle the Light is perhaps the single most important plot point in the whole story, so it's really funny that you actually thought it was never brought up again.
