They say the frit is necessary for the windshield glue to stay strong and keep the windshield from falling out, but I don't remember my grandparents ever having their car windshield fall out and I asked all my friends (n = 3) and they all said they don't ever remember hearing about windshields falling off of cars either. Did we just forget how to do this? I looked at the F-35 cockpit and it doesn't have frit, so maybe this is secret export controlled technology now.
