The program I use for laying out a lot of megadungeons can actually export to some 3D formats too.

It's called Grid Cartographer 4, though I also heavily use pen and paper as well. I think 3D could be really cool, especially for what you're mentioning, I just worry about dev time and workflow since I have literally zero 3D experience. I was looking at RPG maker because I could probably very quickly develop stuff and just focus on gameplay and the dungeon design over worrying too much about graphics and presentation.
