If you want organic concurrent players you make a highly variable coop pve game and release 2-4 significant updates per year like Deep Rock Galactic used to. I mean those guys have fucked off for the past 2+ years making a shitty spinoff yet still DR stays within the top 100 daily active games on steam. It has bad customization, ugly characters, an upfront price tag etc etc but it has solid gameplay and lots of variety and none of the paid cosmetics go above $10. Imagine if these stupid fucking asian companies started by making a good game then also had cute customizable characters in a charming setting. Can we even get a quality copycat of Maplestory ffs? It's simply incompetence
