I genuinely wonder how the fuck guys like the Metro 2033 author took off with self-publishing. It seems impossible now, like you had to be there right at the very beginning. If someone put a gun to my head and told me to post a story that got even 1,000 views I'd have no clue how except to post on /trash/ over and over.
