Your exemple doesn't work because Chinese rule would not improve the life of Europeans.
There is no positive counterpart to the humiliation of being ruled by foreigners.

So it can't be compared to European colonization of Africa, that brought very advanced medicine and technology and abolished slavery, cannibalism, tribal wars, human sacrifices....etc
