there's a reason the "ooohh my sketch looks better than the lineart" thing exists, obviously a sketch isn't designed to be appealing by itself but a lot of artists will be better at sketching because it's how they practice otherwise, so you ought to be good at sketching

not chicken scratching doesn't mean you have to draw perfect lineart as a foundation, just that the outline of what you're drawing has to actually be clear. also, are you drawing with a mouse?
