They should've just went for this direction like in the announcement, releasing while everyone was tired of SF5 and used the initial success to keep developing and refining the game. The launch roster wouldn't have been as trash as well since It wasn't tag.
I also unironically liked the SF5-look more than the cell-shaded shit.
