Rogue trader would be a great setting for a show. There's enough variety for interesting self-contained episodes, and it's more than just armies smashing into each other.
The actual Rogue Trader plot could be adapted into a show very well
>Ep 1: To Reclaim What Was Lost
Intro, Kunrad's betrayal, meet Abelard, Argenta, and Idira. Probably introduce Kibber here too
>Ep 2: Encounters at Rykad
Pasqal and Jimmy, maybe rescuing Evayne Winterscale if that character is going to be used later
>Ep 3: The Final Dawn
Cassia's station, and return to Rykad Minoris for the parade and the big battle to end chapter 1
>Ep 4: Footfall
Jae and the rest of the side characters of Footfall station. Might not be enough meat here for a full episode
>Ep 5: Elantach
Change of scenery to a jungle planet, recruit Yrliet and encounter a subject governor for the first time
>Ep 6: Shield and Shadow
Kibber centric episode where you venture into the lower decks, beginning of the genestealer plot

Now you have a full cast and can fill out the rest of the first season with sidequest planets. The Halo Device would make a good ep by itself. Encounter Marazhai from time to time being a nuisance.

Return to Dargonus and meet Calzone, thus setting up the arc for season 2. And you know what happens next

>S2 Ep 1: The Dark City
Self explanatory, but the have some material for the crew left back on the ship, maybe they're trying to find you. Recruit Ulfar
Rest of S2 is more sidequest planets, but also receiving assignments from Calzone

I would cast this fatass from Season 2 of Severance as Ulfar. He's already huge and Icelandic which suits the character.
