I need a machine for programming. It should have a reasonable level of CPU grunt but no need for a GPU beyond a basic igpu.
On paper these various Chinese "mini pc" Ryzen boxes should do what I need while being cheaper and more compact than anything I could DIY. But I'm finding it hard to trust that they'll be reliable and have good cooling under sustained load.
I've tried to research it and found it very hard to find trustworthy information. Some of the brands have been shilled particularly hard on youtube and reddit.
I was tempted by the asrock deskmini x600, but it's not officially available here in the UK, and apparently it had a bug causing random nvme data loss that was eventually fixed in a bios update. At least they did fix it, but it's hard to trust something with issues like that.
Can anyone recommend a good one?
