Your terrain warps because all the paint, glue, etc is applied to only one side, so when the stuff dries snd contracts, it only pulls in one directions.

Next time tkmd you make a pond, paint both smthe top and bottom of the base with some mod podge, let it dry, then paint on your pond.
Also use a sturdy base to begin with. I've been buying cheap clipboards from the dollar store for terrain bases. They work great.
