Many moons ago, we had a Champions game set in the late 1930's with a definite pulp feel. My character was "The Patriot", leader of a small group of heroes in Boston. He was mildly superpowered with the strength of ten men, supernaturally tough, and had a "flintlock musket" that fired beams of plasma to a variety of effects.
