1870-1930 is the golden age
I don't even look seriously at US houses outside of this range
>dilapidated
I prefer "dilapidated" to renovated
I don't want a renovated house with cardboard and chalk drywall, I want to *restore* the house and keep the lathe & plaster walls, the woodwork, etc.
It's not good because it's old, it's old because it's good. Your new build has planned obsolecense with garbage concrete+rebar foundations designed to fail in 25 years. You'll be lucky if you finish paying your mortgage before the place is falling down around you.
