I wished Close Combat was nerfed to shit, I miss the days of Fighting types needing to rely on either mediocre but reliable moves or powerful but gimmicky techniques to achieve victory instead of just spamming a broken 120 nuke with downsides that might as well not exist.

I've been using a few sets
that run Sunny Day on a few Pokemon as a surprise tool before they go down for me to then switch in Charizard and nuke them back in return hard, funnily enough I haven't used Moltres much in spite of it generally being superior as a Fire spammer, I have not used Houndoom at all, it's not fast enough, it's bulk sucks, it doesn't hit hard enough, it does seem like a good Pursuit user though.
Funnily enough speaking of shitty mixed attackers, I had more success running Camerupt in ADV than I had any opportunities to even use Blaziken, which is really funny to me.

Dusclops and Celebi, I use Calm Mind + Will-o-Wisp Dusclops with a lot of physical investment as a way to tell Snorlax, Metagross and Aerodactyl to eat shit, it does surprisingly well at being a dangerous threat itself after a few boosts with Ice Beam and the elemental punches, albeit it's kinda hard to optimize it's movepool since I need to run either Rest or Pain Split on it. I typically use Celebi as a boost passer, but Lech Seed spam and tolerably decent Grass stab does surprisingly well at keeping up the offensive pressure too.
