In a vacuum you might be correct, but this is not the case in this context.
Volume 1 is objectively the worst Volume in Blue Archive.
Not only has some of the worst characters, it also has the worst setting and is full of powerlevel slop.
It's literally impossible to make a good product out of it.
For that reason it should been skipped in favor of Volume 2 or 3.

I agree in 99% of the cases.
But FGO, BA and Limbus Company are the 1% that deserves being read.
FGO is literally a book by one of the most prominent japanese novelists.
Limbus Company likewise, were visual novel pioneers that decided to make their next VN a gacha.
BA had one of the best writers in the asian scene with Isakusan, and he made BA reach peak with V3 and VF.
The main issue is that BA without Isakusan doesn't have the raw talent and vision to reach peak again.
