Cooldown reduction on all, rest to taste. Max gunner resist is hilarious with the passive toughness regen, you can just ignore them. I even contemplated bomber and flamer resist so I can just stand in the fire for longer than anyone has any right to.
Dog target node is optional. True grit is optional. Heavy investment near the top is optional, but strong. Shield plates is the first thing I'd drop. If you do, consider going down the center for monstrosity hunter, I just don't like the street smarts tax.
Make sure you push often for +75% cleave. Direct your dog into dense packs then blow it up. Use your shotgun special to melt bosses, 2 shells maximize burn, I believe you can fit in around 3-4 shots before having to load another special to maintain it.
