this is expected at 1% retinol. at this point you can either go stronger retinoid like retinal (for anti aging not acne), adapalene or tret/taz which has less adverse effects while it is more efficient. this is because your skin has to do less work to turn it into retinoic acid

use vitamin c in am routine (cant combine it in the same routine with retinoids). you can use tret one day and retinol the other if you really want. for handling pores check out pore care from tina tanaka on youtube, she has like 2 or 3 good vids
