Craft yourself some container to drop all your shit.
Craft a cart as soon as you can, and enjoy your mobile container. With the cart, you can pick up things like the fridge in the kitchen. Once it's full, go back to base and drop all that shit in the container.
Don't hesitate to build small bases/outposts once you go deeper to drop your shit more easily.
Always try to craft the new shit you unlock but don't try to craft it all since not everything will be useful for your character.
Get the basics for your needs ASAP, like a cooking station and crops for food.
