I, uhh... need to watch you defecate. For science.
Why does pipe pistol even exist when scrapshot is so obviously superior in every way?
how the hell are you supposed to have enough accuracy to get the armwraps for advanced firearms? I am already at shadowgate and still using the bio-metric armwraps.
>>717249238Just use the enhancement bench to remove the bio-lock, the armwraps are hella gay.
>>717249238Boil MREs and hunt down aliens with a pistol after farming 999 9mm rounds
>>717249328That'll work. I knew about enhancing to remove the biolock, but I didn't notice I found all required items by now (for the patois rifle anyway).
>>717249561that's dumb. The one thing that kept me playing is that this is one of the few survival crafting games not requiring me to go farm (for now)
>>717249561XP buffs stack so always eat a brain too if you're gonna do sth like that. Guess you don't get combat xp if you attack invulnerable enemies like the big walkers in Flathill?
>>717249238There is other arm gear that let you use advanced weapons, snipers like at the dam can drop them when you butcher their corpses
>>717249086Have you tried it in 1.0? They buffed it a ton.
>>717249086Accuracy and range. Its incredible upgraded too, haven't done the scrapshot yet so that may be even better
So i'm at hydroplant but wanna backtrack and use some antethermite.
Already done laser lab how many more do i need to make?
Science is GAY and STUPID
>>717249703Well, to be honest, combat skill training is slow as fuck no matter what weapon you're trying to level. Except for the accuracy in that version that let you train it with electrothrower, that was quick a fuck.
>>717250379I think just the corn

I for the life of me can't let go of the bionic legs
Does a workbench in the atrium prevent the security robot from respawning? I still need to trash it once before setting up there?
>>717251735>bionic legs>2p exor set>excursion suitI can't use anything else now
>>717251989Workbenches don't prevent bot respawn. You really have to set up defences (barricades with a chopinator or tesla in the choke) if building a base near one.
>>717251735I used them up until the reactors where I felt I need the extra armour because of the gatekeepers shredding me instantly
The reactor armour while carrying a few power cells works nicely as a replacement but I miss not shattering my legs from small falls
>>717252187I hate having to repair armor so i'm working on making whatever the canaan set is called but leather is proving to be an issue. The wildlife pens only had 2 purple peccaries and i can't find any more breifcases
I just donโt know what to do first. And thereโs so much stuff I canโt pick up because of my tiny inventory.

>>717252483Train portal has briefcases, make a trip there every so often for silver scrap, wall lights and pocket watches.
Making dough and turning it into bread and then burgers is cool and all, but there's grand total of 4 purple peccaries in the entire facility...
>>717252621Setting up a chopinator near the bot spawn (with a battery to power it through the night) is enough to keep it at bay as long as you repair it. I live in the lobby and never have bot problems, I have two chops and a Tesla coil there to deal with random night incursions as well
>>717252743I always forget the train, so far i've only needed to go twice because i needed a second battery charger
>>717252610you don't have to pick up everything. i don't know why people play games and think they need to vacuum up every single item they see. you are not going to miss out, the item will still be there later
>>717252610Find or make a backpack if you've not already. There's a few in the office sector. Storage crates are just plastic and planks once you get a crafting bench and an idea of where you want a base.
>>717252610The game is balanced for at least two people carrying stuff.
Craft yourself some container to drop all your shit.
Craft a cart as soon as you can, and enjoy your mobile container. With the cart, you can pick up things like the fridge in the kitchen. Once it's full, go back to base and drop all that shit in the container.
Don't hesitate to build small bases/outposts once you go deeper to drop your shit more easily.
Always try to craft the new shit you unlock but don't try to craft it all since not everything will be useful for your character.
Get the basics for your needs ASAP, like a cooking station and crops for food.
I just finished the myco world and I got the spore weather event, wiki says I need to go to reactor but I haven't unlocked it yet
>>717253383Same thing happened to me, if you craft and use the antethermite it will shut off once you reach the next area
>>717253383I had that before I even got to mycofields.
Is the lode pistol bugged or what? Fucking 75 damage yet it seems to do nothing, even with stealth headshots.
>>717252610I won't tell you exactly where, but in the Data Farm room there is a secret 21 slot backpack, it made my first playthrough way more playable.
>>717252610>>717253215>Craft a cart as soon as you can, and enjoy your mobile container. With the cart, you can pick up things like the fridge in the kitchen. Once it's full, go back to base and drop all that shit in the container.don't know if you meant to say it, but you don't have to bring the cart back to the base if the base is in the lobby. There is a button next to warren that will bring back all carts WITH the loot on it, so any cart you have in your inventory can act like a container from your base.

>>717257881>DON'T DEAD OPEN INSIDE

>>717258193It's arguably better on your own, there's only two portal worlds I think are improved by playing with friends and its only because the enemies that appear in them are completely silent so it helps to have someone watching your back before some faggot with a pitchfork decides to push you across the map
Does the reaper patrol outside of security?

Just dodge the shades.
>>717257752Thirst and hunger mechanics will always be tedious busywork, but this game and subnautica are probably the only two so far I haven't found it to be completely insufferable. A large reason for that is probably the abundance and how easy it is to get self-sufficient. Still annoying at times, but tolerable enough to treat it as something to do because it's there.
I think playing with friends would undermine the atmosphere.

so far its a lot of running from a to b collecting all the items you can carry and running back to base dumping it

Locker room is good for early game (and late game) storage, vending machines for reliable food, and the place is spacious. Only issue I have with it is the glass floors make placing furniture annoying with collision.
>>717271308It's fine as a starting base. I have a home base and outposts in different locations for quick access to certain materials

>>717271308it is literally purpose built as a room to have a base, you see screenshots of peoples bases in that spot all the time... it's where MY base is
it's a great spot desu, just enough room, the hallways create chokepoints for defenses.. once you get jetpacks the upper balcony can be used to exit and enter the base rapidly like a fuckin docking bay
built in coffee machine, lots of flat room, second floor.. the Shooting range is a little shit unless you use it literally for that purpose, it's kinda awkward to get over the desk and into the range part lol
10/10 base location if not a little over used
>>717272069Basically all guns are dogshit so if that's your bar any science weapon will beat them out. The Grinder shits out damage and if you have the trinket that regens battery passively energy/laser pistols can be your EDC for everything from popping boxes or killing every enemy in the game.
the Deatomizer is also just an "I win" button. No fucking around with skill levels, or hoping your enemy drops one fucking bullet for you to use.

>>717271308anywhere in that general area is a good spot
you can build barricades to sort of formulate any chunk of the area into a base
I built mine up the stairs from there in the conference room, and eventually expanded outwards into the hallway and roof of the security office
Food gets easier to manage as you get more materials, and later on if you truly don't feel like engaging with the cooking buffs you can just place a couple of things that can just generate you infinite food without having to harvest or carry meat
>>717271969there's not any reason for that though, at least once you get to trade for ammo you'd be at the point where you can grind for materials and it shouldn't really matter how much you can get if you wanna use the guns as your weapons
like I can just make a deatomizer and carry a laser collector with me and delete the entire sector, limiting the ammo for guns doesn't really matter anymore in like mid-game.. I feel like the trade should be in FULL STACKS not single fucking bullets
>>717271308They have purpose built base areas but if there's a plug socket available you can build a base there. Any corridor any location you can build in.
>>717272393>at least once you get to trade for ammoAnon you can get like, four pistol bullets per week from the vendor. Or 10 whole 556 rounds.

>>717272251yeah but you can't get BACK UP with a zipline.. I've had a jetpack since before it was accessable only in late game/reactors so I kinda cheated my way to high mobility
BUT what you can ALSO do, is build some bridges in the rafters across from the balcony (an add some to that too) and make a jump point, put a snag vine seed on the platform so anyone can get up or down and if you're not carrying a Gravity Cube at all times WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE
then just hop across the gap

>>717272521that's what I mean, at that point you will have access to options that are gunna fuck up enemies anyway as long as you have ammo or even just fucking power (which is literally infinite and transportable)
the trader guy should maybe show up at mid-game and trade for STACKS of ammo, not single fucking bullets
>>717272532If you have the weight capacity, bring a charged laser collector and screwdriver for portable laser charge. Remember also that equipped and hotbar items have a weight reduction with skills

>>717275534I bought it this morning and I agree that it's good. So far anyway. It's different because it's a handcrafted world with a lot of detail instead of the usual open (fields) map of survival crafting games.
>>717275534Actual thought was put into designing the world and how it interconnects with itself for one thing. It's pretty fun to explore.
>>717275352I played on a multiplayer server and found that people who engaged with the game's world and story kept playing. The people who only engaged with the gameplay dropped off

This will keep it powered as normal during the day, but at night you can get some use out of the object connected to the battery until it runs out.

>>717284225If you're putting it there for the group to use and not hoarding it I don't see an issue, I'd much rather have too many screws or rebars because one of my group members is an autist who powerfarms them then a shortage because some guy with metaknowledge shacked up in some secret nook somewhere steals all of it the second it becomes available
>>717284418Force you to look for food when you want to replenish.
I'm reaching that point actually, my soups are about to run out and my fridge is almost empty.
>>717284494in the time it takes to cook 10 helpings of normal food (that decays), you can make 20 helpings of soup (that doesnt decay). I just dont see the point of normal food.
>>717284302idk it was easy for me. I just paced around for a while in the pink encumberance zone. leveling accuracy has been my AIDS thing to level, though that's mostly due to it requiring a lot more setup to level effectively than "walk around loaded down as fuck"
>>717283615If you're talking about refined carbon then rise has respawning boxes but you can also trade silver scrap from the train at an exchanger in labs
>>717284201They're in the office cabinets and stuff
>>717284494If you do even a little bit of farming it's easy to have a fridge full of crap before you even get to a point where you can filter water for unlimited farmworks
>>717284632this desu
I just go get ingredients every once and a while and then make batches of soups. you can make/get infinite pots to store them in
>>717283782why the fuck didn't I think of that.
>>717284201disregard this anon
>>717284673he is either trolling or confused. You need to trade for it until you get much further in the game
>>717284673Not the damn rubber balls, the lab carbon balls
>>717284632It's quicker and simpler to just slap a meat slab onto a pan or go to the cooking station and click the button to make a burrito or whatever than it is to fill a pot with water and individually pull all of the ingredients into your inventory and add them to the pot.
Some of the regular cooking items also give you buffs, but those are usually secondary.
>>717284872>ndividually pull all of the ingredients into your inventory and add them to the potBro just look at the pot and hold E
>>717283615run the train level for silver scrap every time the portal worlds reset and then trade it in the labs
>>717283615carbon?
>farm train for silver>farm caanan for silver>trade for carbon in labs.
If you make soup you end up with no cooking xp. I had to grill max to unlock the oven later on.
>>717284867Oh, lmao
Yeah sorry
You trade for those in the lab for silver, my bad
why would you build anywhere other than office sector?
all shortcuts go back to it
>>717285259Hydroplant living quarters is comfy as fuck.
Plus I can just personal teleport back to the old office base if I need to
>>717284867https://youtu.be/zr5ZbLu-Ghc
>>717264386every area loops back to the office sector eventually and there is a form of fast travel you will eventually unlock.
>>717285259atmosphere, variety. I'm gonna build a base at the top of the furniture store for the womfy rain.
>>717285259I just got to labs but with 3 people its feeling tedious to explore for only 20 minutes then needing to go back to base to deposit stuff. I feel like I want a small base in Labs just to cut down on travel time.
>>717285583carry a cart with you m8
>dump everything into cart(s) as you loot>go home to office>press the cart teleport in the lobby>free delivery of your shit
>>717285701I have been using the forklift. The cart seems okay but it doesnt actually make transferring things faster. I dont think I am at the point where I can use the cart transporter.
>>717285583Do you have 2x+ stack size on? It's honestly so nice.
>>717285790its available from the beginning, the button is next to the security guy with all the peas
>>717285259I've been building sub bases in each sector as a loot drop off point during exploration. I take the key components and whatever common drops I need back to main base.
>>717285790>I dont think I am at the point where I can use the cart transporter.its like the first thing you unlock, it's the button next to the security office in the hub
it only really works if your base is somewhere near the hub though

Is the core keeper area in the mines worth it? I noped out as soon as I saw the thing

>>717264251I hate them specifically for this. You can tell they were designed to do this to distract you while other enemies move in on you, but when they're alone, it's just a huge waste of time.
>>717275534Its basically subnautica in half-life 1/SCP with Voices of the Void gfx, another one of the few good survival crafting games.
>>717286521or that works too lol
>>717264180Game would be fantastic if it wasn't ruined by the dev's porn addiction forcing him to add cutesy shit and aliens to an otherwise really cool game. Complete aesthetic death.

fun game
I really hope the Hex Armor gets an upgrade when the Flesh Anteverse drops. I love how it looks, and the bonus it gives is too good to give up.
I collecting all the employee training TV's and am setting them up beside my bed. I might be developing severe schizophrenia, but at least I'll be employee of the month.
is farming worth it early?
i have to run super far to get water
>>717286827I'm sure we will, the ending is very much an "ending" for GATE but not the story
I also demand they let us in here
I sense a distinct lack of snacks

>>717287274There are also several references to synaptic labs that is also blocked off the same way and not to mention the missing person at the end.
They seem to have set up several different things.
>>717287862opens the Rise portal, only unique resource there is eggs
Is the laser lab actually worth going into, I don't really want to farm more shit to make the thermite
boy I hope I don't fall in
What's the purpose of the craftable portal toilet anyways
>>717288382I actually fucking did.
>>717288356Brother you need like 7 antethermite across the game. Get used to refarming shit. Gel is probably one of the easiest things to snag piles of.

>>717287862>>717287959>only unique resource is eggsgood to know. wasn't sure if i'd gone there too early or i had missed something

>>717285259Hydroplant has a 16 burner kitchen and once you get access to teleporters you aren't further away from any other base.
I built a teleporter hub in the maintenance closet behind the cafeteria, I can get to every single portal world and location in a couple of seconds.
>>717287206Yes. Package all water coolers with clean water and take them to your base for farming. Whenever you're dirty, wash yourself with tainted water. Survive on soups and super tomatoes until you get water filters. If you run dangerously low on clean water you can collect tainted water from water sources and boil it on a stove for clean water but it's tedious and you only get a portion back.

>Dr. Derek Manse reporting, Research Director, GATE Cascade Research Facility.
>We first encoutered IS-4199 during a company retreat in Memphis, USA, when an instance of IS-4199 made contact with Dr. Tang, demanding something from him in an incomprehensible language, and when Dr.Tang was unable to comply, the instance of IS-4199 became highly aggressive and had to be neutralized, it was a miracle Dr.Tang manage to came out of it alive.
>Those creatures surprisingly mimic human behavior, albeit vaguely. Instances of IS-4199 lives in group, almost like families of some kind, they sometime wear clothes and are able to use crude tools, if only as weapons, and seem to feed on large doses of opoids and junk food.
>Upon returning to Cascade, I attempted to communicate our new findings with Dr.Jager, but to my surprise, it became clear that multiple instances of IS-4199 have not only breached the facility, but started impersonating the staff.
>Finding those impersonators turned out to be less tricky than anticipated however, as beside their very obvious physical appearance, Dr. Cahn managed to come up with a trigger word which, when repeated at regular interval at a high enough volume, causes all instances of IS-4199 to become highly aggressive.
>>717289629I had a personal teleport network set up when I got access to laboratory
Love the game but honestly, what the fuck were the devs thinking with pic related? It ruined the entire game for me, jesus fucking christ.
>>717286610I've found they can be a good meatshield when keeping them in front of the guys with guns. Am also playing on apocalyptic, so it's generally not too slow.

my friend's about to host a server. what are must have settings?
>>717291742default is fine for multi, up the difficulty if you're epic gamers who can handle some extra enemy spawns
>>717291742i went with 2x stack size and 1.5x XP gain. also personally went with no durability loss on death, but i feel like maybe that was unnecessary with how easy the game is.
basically, if you play smart, the difficulty of the game shouldn't need to be tweaked. but i do recommend you adjust the settings that lower grind as fuck that shit
>>717291742You're going to want to turn up the respawn rate of items and item stacks. The game is balanced for fewer players so gearing up a group is hard as players are competing for resources on the default settings
>>717291867>>717291889someone earlier said to increase item spawn rates. thoughts? we'll be 2 players
did nobody on the dev team test the search function on the craft bench why does it activate hotkeys jesus
>>717291742max out stack size
increase learning rate because you won't be able to grind when your friend is offline
lower food spoilage rate and fridge deterioration=0 are comfier and means less fighting for food at the start
>>717292025is it simple loot respawning? I can't find the setting you're talking about
