Most people complain about the pacing and that the Dakar arc was cut out, even though it's most representative of the AEUG's intentions in all of Zeta's story. The first movie is maybe only 25% new footage, while the last movie feels more like 50% new footage. Why not just commit to new animation for all of the battles and the glamor shots? Instead you'll have a talking scene in new animation that didn't really need it, and the battle scenes will switch between new and old footage like it's an guy playing with a fidget toy. The changes are jarring, and the fake grain filter didn't help, younger fans won't care about it so it's pointless to them, and older fans or cinephiles will complain it's fake and doesn't look good.
