Not really. Its Protestant Sunday School theology with Catholic trappings with a few facts on demonology from youtube peppered in.
It'd be much stranger if it was based on Jewish mysticism or even Christian Kabbalah. And if you want to see what a setting based on that kind of theology would look like, watch EVA or play any "high concept" jrpg
