I have not tried WoW Classic, but pretty much all the old games work except the turbojank ones that have hardware issues and nobody caring if they run.
Try Debian with KDE Plasma if you want a modern look. XFCE + IceWM +IDesk if the computer is a potato. If it's a super potato computer then Linux Puppy.
