I understand wanting to gatekeep your niche community of people who aren't really interested in the niche thing, but we're clearly beyond that at this point and the sky hasn't fallen. BS has already been popular for a while and these threads are mostly the same, because /vrpg/ is slow as molasses and the social media addicted masses don't use 4chan. These threads gatekeep themselves. The people anons seem to complain about hang out in discord and youtube comments... so just don't go there, as always. That's why I don't understand the seething, honestly it just sounds like many anons are more concerned with keeping the game obscure than the game itself. Like a weird hipster mentality.
Alicesoft games were very obscure ~15 years ago, they started getting translations then broke more into the mainstream with Evenicle on steam, dohna dohna collab with muse dash, etc. Was /hannyrape/ flooded with tiktok zoomers? No, it's still a comfy small civil thread for niche game enjoyers. instead of being dismayed at the games being more accessible, fans look forward to localizations and hope more people can play them. That's why the reaction from this thread has always been weird to me, even going back to the vtubers playing it.
