i heard avril lavigin skater boy song on radio and this time paid attention to the lyrics. This song is weirdly petty and cruel. The entire thing is about Avril antagonizing a girl who had previously rejected the boy Avril is currently dating. This girl didn't do anything to Avril. The girl didn't do anything to the boyfriend either aside from turn down his advances. What a shitty, catty song to write. There's even a scenario where the girl, who is now a mother (father not mentioned), watches the boyfriend on MTV, just now finding out he has become a music star. Avril frames this in such a way to as to point and laugh at the girl for being a mother and not dating the future rock star boyfriend. Now why would Avril care about this anyway if she's the one who secured the attentions of the boy?
