Mushrooms and other psychedelics open portals to both the subconscious and higher levels of spirit. Those demons are your aspects of your subconscious. I don't mean in some metaphorical way, I mean that human consciousness is literally composed of various lower-level spiritual entities. Those demons are aspects of yourself who've turned rogue due to you having a weak integrated consciousness. They think they can start fucking with you then eventually take over or at least fecklessly poke at you in hope you will change for the better. Develop mental strength (self observation is key) and kick those fuckers back in line. Humans are full of demons (really daemons) and human consciousness can probably be defined as "that which is composed of and can direct daemons." Daemons are extremely useful as long as they stay in line.
