The way I see it, We Bare Bears was never about that. The bears usually cause their own problems. If there are any core themes that define the show, it'd be found families (Bears) and learning to form connections with others when one is neurodivergent (Chloe). I haven't revisited the series in years, but just mayyybe what Chong wrote here applies to the bigfoot character who turns out was a really nice guy and didn't want to be treated as some spectacle. As for the bears? They're just a couple of dopes stumbling into humorous situations, even if they have good intentions.
