What's really funny here is that this guy thinks that Watterson allowing his comic strips to stay in circulation in print media (a literal dying medium) is somehow equivalent to selling out your principles.

Watterson barely does much anymore, keeping C&H in circulation is how he gets paid. Same deal goes for Michelangelo and Leonardo since back in the day, commission work was how you kept yourself alive. This guy just comes across is really bitter; especially with how he's comparing Watterson to artists from the Italian Renaissance.
