This nigga literally begged the Crystal Gems to take him on life-threatening mission despite them constantly telling him he wouldn't be safe. When Greg tried to save him from the homeworld gems invasion he went back to Beach City to fight them and ended up getting knocked unconscious and abducted. What the fuck is Steven complaining about? Is he really upset that he got to go on crazy adventures in space and save the universe instead of getting to go to public school?

The entirety of SU:F feels like a bad fanfic trying to "deconstruct" the completely benign premise of the original series by adding "real world logic" to it. "Oh a show about a little kid going on adventures, WELL now he has PTSD!!!" No. The whole point is that it's escapism. Like how gay would it be if kid heros like Ben 10 or whatever moped and complained about how they never got to live normal lives because they had to save the world? That would be fucking retarded
