What's holding things up from any official announcements are David Leitch's availability. He already has How To Rob A Bank in pre-production and is bound to that movie but wants badly to direct Bond 26 with Aaron. But Amazon MGM doesn't want to wait until he finishes shooting that movie and wants to start shooting Bond 26 by October which isn't feasible. Their second and third options include Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Meg 2) and Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry, Nobody) but they want to see if they can squeeze Leitch in.

Aaron is cast, that's a 100% percent done. The problem is that he also wants a say in the director and prefers Leitch but could sour if they aren't able to work the schedules out.
