Literally the easiest and less important part of any game. You just type words and numbers into a text file that follow a logic.

Gameplay > Graphics > Audio > UI/UX > Programming >>>>>>> Story

Games are an art medium, make it look nice to look at and make it feel good to play (it scratches some itch in your brain). Otherwise what's the point? Might as well read a good book.

VVVVVV had amateurish programming and everyone laughed at the dev's programming when he open sourced it. Yet if he hadn't nobody would have given a shit, or would even go look for it because programming is hidden, it's just the scaffolding of the game. If it works, it works.

In short, if you're an artist of some sort you're already way, waaayyy ahead of someone who only knows programming in this medium.
