not sure this is a left vs right thing, but overall, it's simple. more liberal artsy types, although insufferable, are serious about their crafts. sometimes they can be too serious and put arbitrary importance on bullshit like jackson pollock's style of gibberish paintings. but other times, some of them hit the mark and put time and effort into honing and refining a quality work of art. sometimes they put their hearts and souls into things, despite potential ridicule, unafraid to be judged, as the work is a part of them.
People like the Sam brigade/MDE who play with daddy's money are kinds of insecure that most people could only dream about. that's why their shitty sketches are all half assed or usually satirizing other things, that's why they claim every failure was a bit. They're afraid to try to create something, or to show the world something real from within them, and it's so much easier to destroy. so what we're left with are these hollow offerings, empty effigies of shock for the sake of shock, attempts at being edgy that want to seem like something deep, but come across as impotent tantrums from a child used to getting his way. sadly, It's so much easier to bring others down to their shitty level than it is to work tirelessly to raise themselves above the rest, so it just makes sense. it's just simple.
