Taro honestly wasn't wacky enough for me
Like sure, it had some utterly bonkers episodes, but it also had shit like a two parter following a group of kids whose parents died in an airplane crash while a monster blotted out the sun and covered the entire world in darkness and it just felt so out of place
The average Taro episode wasn't that dark, but most of them also didn't measure up to that one episode in the beginning where Kotaro got trapped inside a kaiju, prompting ZAT to fly in a giant pepper shaker to get the kaiju to sneeze Kotaro out
