Man of Steel actually tried to treat Superman like a serious character; first contact, identity, burden of power and Gen X critics couldn’t handle it because it didn’t come with a laugh track and a post-credits shawarma joke. “Why isn’t he quipping like Iron Man?” Because it’s Superman, not some smug Reddit avatar in a cape.
These faggots wanted Whedon-tier sarcasm every five seconds. They wanted Clark Kent doing zingers mid-genocide. “Uhh awkward!” “Did I do that?” Get fucked.
