Everyone but the most progressive, subversive motherfuckers in the depths of the Gender Studies Department was a Conservative by today's standards. New York City had elected Republican Rudy Giuliani. Even Democrats were arguing for building border walls and not unbanning gay marriage.

Obama's admin changed everything. None of these wokescolds cared about fictional violence in the 2000s. They were arm and arm with us arguing against the Bible Thumpers who wanted GTA, Harry Potter, and Pokemon banned. But when GWB torpedoed the Neocon movement, which proceeded to fall from grace to the point where Neocons only make up about 10% of the population now, they filled the power vacuum. Then Occupy Wallstreet happened and Feminist Frequency happened within a year of each other. And the rest is history.
