Here's the checklist I would follow:

>Is your TP low (less than 15-20%)?
>Out of bag space?
>Out of status removal/revives?
>Monsters hitting really hard, suddenly?

If the answer to one or more of those is "Yes", then consider warping back to town to resupply.
