R07 actually had directly confirmed it in an old artbook, but then got scared off to do it in a big way with Gou/Sotsu and stopped with the vague "Hanyuu if part of Eua" stuff.
>Do you remember the sword cut mark on Hanyuu's horn? That cut damaged "her" memory device, causing her existence to become "bugged". Due to that, she became a character with a completely different personality from Featherine... maybe there's a hidden setting like this.
It's similar to what happened in the original Higurashi, where after Minagoroshi came out, he talked in an interview about how Hanyuu could easily have found the culprit, but she has a different motivation from Rika, and doesn't want to let her go. And then he said he'd address it in the next chapter, only for Matsuribayashi to be completely silent on the matter.

>This is the absolute difference in values between Hanyuu and Rika. If you think about it that way, a free being like Hanyuu would have been able to walk around freely and search for the murderer, but why does Hanyuu not know anything and keep telling Rika to give up and that there will be another time? I'll get into that next time. (laughs)
