Be cautious, especially once you get to low tread. A patch/plug might be safer, I had plugged a hole in my rear and once the tread was low it depressurized or came out, deflated my tire and it de-beaded at 70. Pretty clench moment, rear of the bike cocked right, front wheel turned to the right, looking like a drift but going straight. Very lucky the deflated tire didn't bind up (until after I got stopped).
I feel like I recognize that tread.
