We had an Artoria thread days ago as well discussing about her.
Frankly I wish a more diversified discussion on classes but I liked the one we had previously on Saber being better more because of versatility specially when you compared with her alts that lost something to gain something and this could be a huge vulnerability.
For example: turning Alter amps up her power and seemingly even helps the efficiency somewhat since her Dragon Core gets supercharged. She gets decreases in AGI, Luck and Magic Resistance. You are likely getting vamporized in her normal blows, but there is more room to exploit here.

I know every time she is wanked and all and was crippled for most of her appearances, but she doesn't feel like all that. She repeatedly gets tricked, overpowered and outskilled. And while Excalibur is wanked is ''the strongest Holy Sword'' it doesn't have many deeds of note. If anything, most people she fought are so good they don't even leave room for proper casting or dodge at point blank.
Mordred feels like an overall safer choice for Saber in spite of being at most a sidegrade just for the fact she plays safer. And even at night without the Sun boost Gawain feels like an overall more competent servant.
