This was sort of my story. Except I'm outgoing without the sauce. Booze just made me extra sociable and fun. But once the blackouts and the darkside emerged I had to hang it up. I mean, I drank alone for a few years to contain it, but I still lost friends just because of drunk dialing and awful things said. At least the physical damage and lost stuff was contained to home and no one witnessed it.
But I caused so many fucking scenes before I realized I had to keep my drinking in the closet. And then it was just destroying my body and making me sick. I'm so fortunate I was able to get by on weed. I lost weight and got my life together after getting off booze.
