I wrestled and got a blue belt and BJJ before trying striking. The muay thai gym where I trained had you just hit pads and do bagwork for like 3 months before you start sparring. It's a different ballgame. In the same way that in grappling when you're much better than your opponent you can make them look like a baby, the same applies to striking and it's humbling. It's definitely worth doing if you haven't before
