Gpt-5 has some good things, but mostly it is similarly flawed and partially worse. I just use Claude and Gemini next to it. Key things I hate about GPT-5 compared to GPT-4o:
- sometimes very slow. Mx was “4min thinking”
- very long idiotic answers beating around the bush
- completely mixes up and forgets instructions in a conversation
- reasoning skills have actually partially decreased, it feels like talking to an autistic 16yr old which is heavily medicated and after 3 min forgets most stuff that is being told to it
- before you could choose which model you want for which task, now no longer
- annoying “have you chatted enough today?” Messages after 30min of trying to get a coherent answer
It feels like people who seriously work with AI will finally use a range of AIsl breaking the normie hold on ChatGPT. Normies need to also realize there are a dozen competitors which are often better, cheaper, faster and less wordy with lower censorship.
