from here on out the new races we get must follow two rules: the devs themselves want it, player input not needed. if their echo chambers doesn't like ethereals as playable then we'll never get one but you bet your ass we almost got that shitty looking harronir race, why? it's a new dev original race, they jerk off what they can claim as their own so they favor that over whatever the fans want from the older works.
second important rule, probably more than the first, is cheapness. harronir got cut due to this and earthen were made because grey dwarfs. tag on dual factions and you're set. I really doubt we'll ever get another faction exclusive unless if it's another elf variant or something even easier to make than earthen.
