Depends on when. The picture in the post you responded to IS a we praetor.
And its not like the alpha legion were entirely austere either (for example), heres dynat, pretty fancy and cool right?
Praetors and centurions can look basically as fancy or plain as you want, but the rules for the legions are also less clear cut. Sure, you CAN go super all in on the legion gimmick, but its not like everyone did that, theres fancy RG and AL and plain looking WE, for the most part everyone would have looked mostly normal with exceptions in either direction and maybe some tendencies for which direction is more prevalent based on the legion.
