the general Greek theory was that humans were cavemen who were doing whatever felt good and certain humans were *chosen* and began to receive the logos (not to be confused with gnostic/christian logos) a sort of higher cognitive function aligned with the nous, the infinite mind of the creator, and this was the 'breath' given to certain men, a sort of second soul drop. the psyche is the archetype of that person, sort of a guardian angel, which doles out this breath and tries to bring the chariot into line, the dark horse the cave brained do what feel good primitive human, and the white horse, the perfected version which the charioteer/psyche tries to elevate the dark horse to. the body is essentially the dark horse, the spirit is the light horse.

the answer is probably some element of both. a physical evolution provided the necessary preconditions to allow the creator to activate the higher functioning, without compromising the integrity of the creation by doing something absurd like splitting the red sea in half so people could walk through it, thats not the way god works at all.

but the real blackpill is the npc rediscovery, and finding out like 2/3rds of the population hasnt even hit the evolutionary threshold for an inner monologue yet, some 3 millenia later. abrahamism probably isnt helping things either. since we've essentially regressed in understanding this higher spiritual function
