I think the spirit in which it was intended is pretty clear, Ruri's attempt to counterbalance Keita's insecurity with brute force. But it still reads as fucking crazy.
I could certainly see how it you were to read this interaction negatively, you could read every interaction as negative.
But I don't do that. So I think it's just our interpretations differ. I think the gals love Keita, and he's making slow progress. Others might think they are controlling bitches who won't allow him a life of his own. I don't think the text really supports that reading, but I do understand how you would get there.

I think the entire point is that it is not supposed to be inconsistent at all. It may not be good writing, but I think the intent in showing Keita being watched without his knowledge and acting in the way he ends up acting is that this is also part of his behavior. He acts a certain way around the girls, and that's most of how we see him. When we see him without the girls, which is rare, he consistently acts in the way we are shown.
He's embarrassed seeing the girls nude or initiating sex. But he has no problem talking to his male friends about jerking off or cumming, as he does in some omake strips. Is that inconsistent too?
